May 2015

AKS wins a contract to re-manufacture 16 transformer oil cooler tube nests with 90/10 CuNi tubes, RNB tube plates and brass baffles, the contract also involves removal of old tube nests and installation of new nest with new seals and gaskets for electric power plant.

Oct 2014

AKS successfully completes the first of 2 Shell & Tube Refrigerant Condenser Re-tubes on vessel during sailing using 90/10 CuNi intergron tubes, the work was completed within the time scales permitted, A further order to re-tubed a second condenser was issued to AKS with work to be undertaken in November 2014.

AKS Heat Transfer Ltd wins an order to design manufacture and supply 3 hot air blower dryers for Fisher Tankship UK, AKS heat Transfer Ltd was chosen by the client because of the ability of AKS to meet the short time delivery dates required, the first unit is to be delivered to the docks in Feb 2014.

AKS Heat Transfer Ltd successfully completes the re-manufacture of 2 x 16-E-17 A/B shell & tube condenser tube nests for the Warri refinery Nigeria from a drawing to original specification, all materials, dimensions and inspections was approved and undertaken by Lloyds Register.

August 2012

AKS Heat Transfer completes major M30 Plate Heat Exchanger Up-grade for Maersk FPSO Peregrino vessel operating off the coast of Brazil. The up-grade involved the modification of the original plate pack from 201 x Titanium 0.6 thick plates with HNBR gaskets, the original unit having failed whislt in production the client needed a solution in the fastest possible time, AKS was chosen because of the speed of reaction and the ability to provide a complete new plate pack with 281  x titanium 0.8mm thick plates with Viton gaskets, the complete new plate pack underwent a full inspection through-out the manufacturing process undertaken and approved by Lloyds Register. The complete project from order to despatch from our UK facilities took just 10 weeks to complete.

AKS Heat Transfer Superfin Block Type Charge Air Coolers.

Manufactured in Sheffield UK the new Superfin block for main engine charge air coolers and finfan coolers is produced with copper or aluminium fins mechanically bonded to tubes resulting in a block type cooling element, this procedure improves quality and efficiency that allows AKS to upgrade existing coolers while maintaining the original coolers dimension’s and footprint.

AKS Heat Transfer UK successfully completes the total re-tube of a Serck Como MSF 150-3 fresh water generator,  in all AKS Heat Transfer UK supplied and installed  a total of 1862 new tubes, the work was  undertaken by a team of 3 men within a total of 8 days.

AKS returns Shell & Tube Vac Pump Heat Exchanger Scottish & Southern Electric

AKS returns shell & tube vac heat exchanger to scottish & south electric after a total remanufacture to its tube nest, the shell, end caps and tube plates received a protective coating and tube end inserts was employed to guard against tube end erosion.

AKS completes BAE Systems contract

July 2011

AKS Heat Transfer returns 4 completely refurbished "Serck Heat Transfer" shell & Tube heat exchangers back to BAE systems Ltd, the coolers was totally re-tubed using 70/30 Copper Nickel tubes and the complete cooler's was pre-conditioned with film protection against premiture failure in sea water working conditions, all coolers was fully pressure tested and works test certificate issued.

AKS completes Nexen Oil & Gas project

June 2011

AKS Heat Transfer wins order to refurbish 10 large pressure motor air coolers from the Buzzard Platform North Sea.

Nexen Oil & Gas International required a specialist company to refurbish 10 high pressure motor air coolers fitted to their production high pressure compressors located in the Buzzard platform in the North Sea UK, they required a company who could meet there stringent and precise needs, re-manufacture the coolers to required delivery dates on an emergency basis and maintain flexibility to work with them on any modifications and new material selection.

In partnership with Whittaker Engineering Ltd Nexen awarded the project to AKS Heat Transfer of Sheffield UK.

In close partnership with Whittaker Engineering & Nexen in material selection AKS manufactured 10 new extended surface air cooler cooling elements, re-assembled complete coolers and fully pressure tested in our Sheffield works using 316 stainless steel tubes and aluminium fins.

Working on a call off basis AKS completed the full project with all coolers returned to the platform as ordered and the project was completed successfully.
