Client Request: Marine Heat Exchanger Servicing in Europe
In Spring 2026, we were contacted by a Europe-based client to service a marine heat exchanger (Bloksma V22-2P-L=1000).
The unit was initially sent to our workshop for inspection, servicing, and repair. Following testing, the unit failed to meet the required standards. We promptly informed the client and, in agreement with them, proceeded with the manufacture of a new tube nest, which included:
- 90/10 copper-nickel (CuNi) tubing (marine-grade)
- New carbon steel tube plate
- Replacement baffle assembly
The fully reassembled unit was then tested in accordance with the specified pressure requirements, and a work test certificate was issued to confirm compliance.
Project outcome
Upon completion, the unit was securely packed in an export wooden case and returned to the client in Europe. AKS was able to remanufacture this item in a timely manner due to the marine-quality tubes that AKS holds in stock. The client was satisfied with the timescale. AKS has a 3D drawing of this unit in our database.
